Walk in the National Park

Zuid-Kennemerland National Park is home to several large grazers. Not only is it one of the few areas in the Netherlands where the wisent lives in the wild, you may also encounter highlanders, deer and Konik horses on a walk here. You will only encounter bisons in Kraansvlak. This part of the National Park is open from September to March. Other animals can be seen all year round.

Zandvoort’s sloppies are a relic of Zandvoort’s rich history. These narrow, cosy streets in the centre of Zandvoort take you past old fishermen’s houses and take you back to the days when fishing was the main source of income. Of course, you can stroll through the slums by yourself, but it is more fun to do so under the inspiring guidance of a Zandvoort guide. The Zandvoort Museum regularly organises so-called slop walks during the season.

Because apart from the many bunkers hidden in the dunes, the area has the largest population of Fallow deer in the Netherlands.
