Throughout August, Zandvoort was buzzing with official side events ahead of the Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix. Scattered through the village, all kinds of activities took place that gradually brought Zandvoort into the racing atmosphere. With a festive finale: the Zandvoort Racefestival. Nine days of entertainment and experiences in typical Zandvoort hospitality, free for everyone. In 2026, the Racefestival will return, more information to follow.
The Racefestival in 2025 took place across various locations in Zandvoort. Highlights included the traditional Ferris wheel, the go-kart track, the fair, the soapbox race (which made a comeback), the Ziggo Race Café, live Formula 1 on a big screen, and a lively music program in the town center during Grand Prix weekend. Zandvoort is best reached by train, bike or bus. The village has its own railway station; from there you can walk to the beach, the centre and the Race Festival in less than 5 minutes. Extra trains are used during the race weekend. For up-to-date departure times: check the NS website. Do you live in the region? Then come by bike. Zandvoort is easily accessible from the surrounding area via safe and attractive cycle paths.
