Escape from the city
The area around Zandvoort is home to several beautiful country houses dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries. From the days when rich people from Amsterdam fled the busy city in the summer to enjoy the clean air and nature in peace and quiet. Since then, several generations have inhabited the country houses. Today, several country houses are open to the public and you can admire the splendour of yesteryear. Especially for cyclists, this is a wonderful tour.

House in Manpad
Huis te Manpad is a nearly 400-year-old country house, with the front part of the house even dating back to the early days. The house has been adapted, extended and renovated by its residents over the years. In the process, the style of the house and the estate have been preserved as much as possible. The estate is free to visit and in summer a free guided tour of the grounds starts every Saturday at 10.00 am.
