Stay overnight in Zandvoort during the autumn holidays and enjoy the peace and nature by the sea. Choose a cosy hotel, a comfortable flat or an atmospheric Bed & Breakfast. After a day full of beach walks and dune adventures, it is great to come home to your fine accommodation.
Late summer in Zandvoort is enjoying the terrace overlooking the sea. Still feel the warm sun on your face, enjoy the rustle of the waves and toast the late summer days. Before the inter falls, relax at the seaside, with the sun as a guest at your table.
October is deer rutting season in the Waterleidingduinen near Zandvoort. The males impress with impressive roaring and their imposing antlers. You can hike through this beautiful nature reserve and spot deer up close. Walk along one of the hiking trails and be surrounded by autumn colours and tranquillity. A special spectacle of nature in the autumn holidays in Zandvoort.
In the Waterleidingduinen, birdwatchers can get their fill. This vast nature reserve near Zandvoort is a true paradise for birdwatchers in autumn. During the autumn migration, when weather conditions are favourable, numerous special bird species pass by. With a bit of luck, you will spot species such as the Crowned Duck, Black-throated Diver, Goosander, Wild Swan and the striking Shrike here.
Even in October, Zandvoort is the place to be for surfers. Autumn often brings strong waves and perfect surf conditions. With a wetsuit, you brave the fresh water and enjoy the power of the sea. Surfing lessons in the autumn holidays are available at the various surf schools on the beach.
We chose a walk in the area around the Duin &Kruidberg estate in Santpoort-Noord, the so-called konik route, some 9 kilometres through a varied forest and dune landscape. The dune landscape is especially beautiful. In the park there are several walks . well signposted, of varying length and difficulty. Various starting points, e.g. in Overveen where the visitor centre is located. Very worthwhile.
