What is a share scooter?

A shared scooter is an electric scooter that is easy to use for anyone aged 18 or over with an A, B driving licence or a moped certificate. Pick up the scooter at a service point and leave it at another service point close to your destination. The rental company will replace scooters with a low battery, so you can keep riding worry-free.

How does a share scooter work?

It is easy to rent a shared scooter:

  1. Create an account on the Felyx website and download the Felyx app from the app store or Google play
  2. Find a shared scooter with the app
  3. Check the scooter and report any damage via the app
  4. Activate the scooter with the app
  5. Unlock the share scooter with two buttons
  6. Put on the helmet, take the scooter off the stand, speed up a bit, accelerate and drive off
  7. At your destination, park the scooter neatly in the designated compartment
  8. End the rental via the app and take a photo of your parked scooter. This will help you avoid a possible fine for wrong parking.

Where can you rent a shared scooter?

The locations for renting a shared scooter are easy to find in the Felyx app. In Zandvoort, shared scooters are available at the following locations:

  • Stationsplein
  • De Zuid car park
  • Boulevard Barnaart at Thalassa Pavilion
  • Boulevard Barnaart at NH Hotel
  • Badhuisplein
  • Zandvoort town centre, corner of Louis Davidsstraat – Prinsesseweg (next to the HDMZ)

At these fixed locations you can pick up and leave a shared scooter.

Cost

At Felyx, you ride from as little as €0.35 per minute, with a starting rate from €1.00. Want to park the scooter in between rides without ending your ride? You can do so for €0.10 per minute. This way, you only pay for what you actually use.

Safely on the road

  • On scooters, a helmet is mandatory. You will find the helmet in the top case on the scooter or in the buddy. This is also where you will find hairnets.
  • Scooters with a yellow number plate must go on the main road. Scooters with a blue number plate must be on the cycle path.
