The Badhuisplein is the square in front of the current Holland Casino Zandvoort. During the 1930s, some of the names in Zandvoort were changed as a result of the new look caused by the recent construction work.
The Groot Badhuis Hotel had become justifiably famous and as proof of this the square in front of it was officially named after the hotel. The Groot Badhuis Hotel, built in 1828, could boast its own baths and guests could take alternating hot and cold baths in seawater. According to the doctors of the time, the water enriched with iodine had a healing effect on the human body.
There are plans to renovate the Badhuisplein in Zandvoort.
