Several bridle paths have been built in and around Zandvoort. And you can of course go for a beach ride. However, there are some rules attached to this.
As a rider, you have some rules to consider. You are only allowed to ride or have a riding or draught animal on the beach from 1 October to 1 March, with the exception of emergency services. Furthermore, you always need a permit to rent or offer a riding or draught animal for use by the public on the beach (article 5.39 APV). In Zandvoort, there are a number of different stables that have such a licence, which does allow them to ride horses on the beach.
Zandvoort has one riding school: Manege De Baarshoeve. Here you can take a guided horse for a ride on the beach or through the dunes. It is also possible to rent a pony for a small ride through the dunes for the little ones.
Of course, your own horse is also welcome in Zandvoort. While you stay in your own accommodation, your horse is safe and comfortable at one of our riding schools, both of which offer holiday stabling. This allows you to explore the surroundings with your own horse.
In National Park South-Kennemerland, between sunrise and sunset there is free access for riders. You can enter the National Park with your horse at eight entrances: Duin en Kruidberg, Bleek en Berg, Koevlak, Parnassia, Kraantje Lek, Zanderij (Middenduin), Duinpieperpad and Blinkertweg. If you come with a trailer or truck, go to the car parks Bergweg, Parnassia or Koevlak. You cannot park your trailer at the other car parks. Equestrian safaris are also organised regularly. For dates and availability, check the national park’s website.
