And to make sure you can see the trees in our beautiful forest, we give you our tips for activities with children, nice child-friendly restaurants and cosy accommodation where you can stay with your children.

You might run into a fox

Large campsite, with lots of activities in and around the campsite. The beach is within walking distance. The campsite is beautifully situated in the dunes and there’s a bus stopping in front of the entrance, which puts you in Zandvoort or Haarlem in no time. But really highly recommended, and if you take it easy in the morning, you might even come across a fox 😀.

Child-friendly restaurants

Children can be fussy and often find it difficult to sit still for a bit longer. This can make for a challenge when you want to enjoy a nice family meal. Fortunately, there are several restaurants in Zandvoort geared towards children so you can have a nice meal yourself.

Indoor games in Zandvoort

If it rains for a day, you are less likely to head out. Then it is good to know that there are plenty of places for children to have fun indoors.

Overnight with children

When you go on holiday as a family, you like to sleep together, preferably with your own room for parents and for children. In Zandvoort, you will find a large number of accommodation where you can stay as a family. Several hotels have family rooms or connecting rooms with connecting doors. There are also several holiday homes and flats where you can enjoy your stay on the Dutch coast with children

Child lost? Collection points

First Aid Beach Post “De Rotonde” is open from mid-May to mid-September from 11am – 7pm and in beach weather from 10am to around 8pm. Among other things, it is the central reporting point for lost children. The post is centrally located. You will find it at the beach exit on Badhuisplein between beach tent 9 and 10, 023- 5714445.

06 wristband

The aim of the joint national 06-wristband campaign is to make beachgoers aware of how they can prevent a child from getting lost. The 06 wristbands are a useful tool for this purpose. The 06 wristbands can be collected from Zandvoort’s two lifeguard stations.

Greasing

1. Lubricate at least every 2 hours. 2. Keep children out of the sun between 12 noon and 3pm. 3. Keep children under 1 year old out of direct sun altogether. There are lubrication poles at various points on the promenade where you can get free sunscreen.

Playgrounds

The beach is, of course, one big playground for children. Making sand castles, romping around with water and looking for shells. Several beach pavilions also have fun play equipment for children.
