It’s time again for the Open Mackerel Smoking Championship!

Early in the morning, the smokers set up their ‘barrels’ on the Church Square. They then begin smoking their mackerel. In the afternoon—at 2 p.m.—the competition fish is handed over to the jury and the judging begins. This is followed by the awards ceremony. The fish is sold for charity. So come and watch and taste this delicious competition-grade mackerel!
