Zandvoort has over 35 beach pavilions where you can eat, drink and BBQ. There's always an event, party or festival to be found on the beach that'll make you happy. There's something happening on the beach all year round, because five of the beach pavilions remain permanently. So although most parties and festivals take place in the summer months, all kinds of things happen on the beach during low season. Sea Sparkle
One extraordinary natural event that takes place in Zandvoort cannot be planned. After a warm spring or summer day, the surf lights up bright blue with thousands of twinkling lights. This magical sight is called Sea Sparkle. All conditions have to be just right: the water must be shallow and the preceding spring or early summer's day must have been warm. And even if the situation is perfect, one spot can have a dazzling sparkle, while a hundred meters further down the beach the waters stay dark. So a little bit of magic, and a whole lot of luck!
