Marij, 42, Zandvoort resident
As far as I am concerned, Zandvoort is the ideal place to live, with the beach and dunes just around the corner. The combination of the village atmosphere and all nature at walking distance made my boyfriend and I want to move from Amsterdam to Zandvoort. We bought our new house in December and we got to know many people right away. Zandvoort people are enthusiastic, hospitable and immensely proud of their village. As brand-new residents, everyone welcomed us with open arms.
Nothing is more fun than coming to live here. As a freelance event manager, I organise corporate and public events. As I am often busy at work, it is a nice prospect to soon be able to walk out the door after a full working day to get some fresh air in the dunes or on the beach. I love bird watching and often go to the Waterleidingduinen for that. I also bought a birdhouse for our new garden.

My Zandvoort tips
My favourite place in Zandvoort is actually the entire coastline. I like to walk on the beach to clear my head, nice with my feet in the sand. We drank our first beer as new residents of Zandvoort at café Fier. We were warmly welcomed there and together with all the guests we toasted to our new home. In summer, Bohdi Beach and Fosfor are my favourite places on the beach. In the village, I recently had a delicious meal at Pizzeria La Fontanella. And after a long walk in the Water Supply Dunes, lunch at DUNE on the edge of the dunes is highly recommended!
