Karine - 41 years, visitor Zandvoort
I have lived in Haarlem all my life and what a joy it is to live so close to the beach at Zandvoort! It was wonderful growing up with the sea so close, almost literally around the corner. One of my favourite activities is walking with my dog Bodhi on Zandvoort beach.
I also frequent Zandvoort for wave surfing. And as an interior stylist, I combine my passion for reusing things with my love for the beach and surf lifestyle. I can often be found at one of Zandvoort's many beach bars, enjoying the wonderful beach vibes. One of my favourite spots on the beach is Noosa, because there is also a surf school there with a cosy surf community: the Surfana Collective. I got to know a lot of people there.
"Highly recommended is watching the sunset from the beach."
My Zandvoort tips
In Zandvoort, you can actually park your campervan right by the sea, which is fairly unique in the Netherlands. And I really recommend watching the sunset from the beach, with a delicious cocktail in your hand. I regularly go to Kayuca with my boyfriend, where you can sit outside at the beach bar: nice and out of the wind.
My tip for anyone who, like me, has a dog: the dog shop Doggy Beach House in Zandvoort. They have a pull-out wall there with dog snacks and lots of different dog treats. It really is a unique shop, I had never seen it like this before!
