It is well known that Zandvoort is the perfect home base for both recreational and serious cyclists. The extensive network of paved bike paths through National Park Zuid-Kennemerland will have you cycling through a beautiful landscape all day. From the National Park it doesn't take long to get to IJmuiden to see the great locks. And there are also several impressive estates in the near vicinity. They are definitely worth taking a look.

Haarlem can also be reached by bike from Zandvoort. Ride through the historic town center and enjoy the authentic atmosphere. De Mooie Nel is also highly recommended. In spring it is very much worth your while to cycle from Zandvoort to the bulb growing region. You will pass the most beautiful fields and very traditionally Dutch landscape, with the occasional windmill. In Lisse you can of course plan a stop to visit the Keukenhof. Buy your tickets in advance st the Zandvoort Tourist Information.

If you head south on your bike from Zandvoort, you will find a wonderful route. With the dunes of the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen on your left and the sea on your right, you will cycle towards Noordwijk. A ride you will not forget in a hurry.
