Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen
This natural reserve, used as an area where the dune sand filters Amsterdam's drinking water, is situated to the south of Zandvoort. Because bicycles and dogs are not allowed, it is the perfect place for a quiet walk along the paved paths. But if you really want to explore the area, you are allowed off the paths to go cross country. This area is truly unique and houses the largest population of fallow deer in the Netherlands. There is also a large number of World War Two bunkers hidden in the dunes, some of which are accessible.
