The foundation for emergency medical centers in the area has asked the organization for medical substitutes to place a general practitioner and an assistant in the First Aid Station 'De Rotonde'. This is a service supported by the council as an extra service in the busy summer months. Any medical treatment must be paid in cash if patients do not have Dutch medical insurance. People are asked to come to the station with valid insurance details. This to avoid any awkward situations with patients who refuse to pay.
Central reporting location missing children
The station is not just for first aid and medical care. It is also the central reporting location for missing children. You can also get information there about other emergency services like beach police, search and rescue, ambulance services, doctors and dentists. On weekends until the end of the beach season, both locals and tourists can take advantage of the skills of the general practitioner and his/her assistant. The Zandvoort Search and Rescue team also offers first aid.
