The Special Olympics National Games Haarlem 2026 are the largest sporting event in the Netherlands for people with intellectual disabilities. The event takes place from June 12 to 14, 2026, in Haarlem, Haarlemmermeer, and Zandvoort.
More than 3,000 athletes participate in over 20 different sports, supported by coaches, volunteers, and supporters. The Games are not just about winning, but above all about participation, fun, self-confidence, and connection.
Three sports take place in Zandvoort: triathlon , golf , and running . The triathlon and running are organized on and around Circuit Zandvoort , where participants use the race track in the dunes. Golf takes place at Golfclub The Dunes , in the Zandvoort dune area.
One of the highlights is the opening ceremony at the Haarlem Ice Rink, where thousands of people gather for the start of the event.
