Dansroute Festival VLOED – Dans in de Duinen

Stroll through the dunes and discover 3 special dance performances by the Dutch Don’t Dance Division.

Join us for a walk through the beautiful dunes surrounding Zandvoort and be surprised along the way by three unique dance performances by the Dutch Don’t Dance Division. Amidst the beachgrass and sand, the dancers become one with the dynamic nature. The choreographies were created especially for Festival VLOED and are not seen anywhere else.

The route

During the dance route, you’ll walk through an impressive dune landscape and stop three times for a live performance. Wear sturdy shoes, dress for the weather, and let yourself be carried away by dancers, dunes, and the wind.

Along the way you will also pass Circuit II, a landscape artwork by John Körmeling that forms a natural transition between the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes and the Kennemer Dunes.

Starting location: New Unicum

The dance route begins at Nieuw Unicum: a unique location with a rich Zandvoort history. Originally founded as a care hotel for people recovering by the sea, this striking location has grown into a meaningful place in Zandvoort, closely connected to the dunes and the sea. Today, Nieuw Unicum is a place where living, care, and support converge. A fitting setting for a dance route that intertwines care, resilience, nature, and contemporary dance.

About The Dutch Don’t Dance Division

The Dutch Don’t Dance Division has one clear mission: to make ballet less elitist. They believe that dance should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age or background. That’s why they take ballet beyond the traditional box and perform in a variety of venues: from nursing homes and primary schools to performances with Armin van Buuren and choreographies for 1,000 amateur dancers.
