Jazz in Zandvoort

The 8th concert in the series of yet another 21st season of Jazz Tribute Art Blakey and Clark Terry  

This time provided by:                   Nanouck Brassers, trumpet and flugelhorn / Jeroen Brokkelkamp, tenor saxophone

                     Jean Louis van Dam, piano / Edwin Corzilius, bass / Dylan Vos, percussion

Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, a world-famous formation. Blakey was a drummer with a style all his own. 

He played with the most lauded jazz musicians, the list of celebrities is bizarrely long. Horace Silver, pianist, 

arranger and composer with Art Blakey, recorded an album in 1952 with the Jazz Messengers. This is where the 

famous compositions that we still know very well today and are sure to be played. 

The Jazz Messengers are also best known for giving young promising musicians a chance. 

That will happen at this concert too, be surprised!

After the break, the focus shifts to Clark Terry. His playing is characterised by an insane embouchure 

which enabled him to play things that others are not given. Add to this his warm sound and vibrato and 

experience the unique Clark Terry sound. 

In short, it will be a great jazz and swing fest to bid farewell to the "old Krocht" and on to 

the new Krocht.

The concerts will take place in theatre de Krocht, Grote Krocht 41, 2041LV Zandvoort.
